anyone tried a Iron Horse Bootleg 3.0 Frame

I've currently got a Bootleg 2.0 in the shed. Bike rides OK BUT some of the stock parts did give it an air of cheapness. Very quickly stripped most of the tat off the frame, mainly the FSA low budget crap. The main reason that I bought one is that CRC were offering a 60% discount at the time and for the money that I paid it was IMO pretty good value. Cost somewhere around £700 for the full bike.

I believe Iron Horse are now defunct so don't think there will be much luck with any future warranty claims though. What I will say is that compared to many modern large tubed hydroformed bikes the rather more slender tubing does make it look more elegant. Having said that I haven't really ridden it that much as my main modern ride is my Scott Genius compared against which the Bootleg doesn't come close but it did cost 5 times as much :(

This is the stock photo, if you want I'll PM you some of my actual bike tomorrow

im looking at buying a frame crc have the bootleg 30 frame on offer at £499 and was gonna swap everything from my xtc over so full xtr and reba world cups and hope x717 wheels with a hope and stans wheelset for racing

It is a pretty light frameset and with that mix of components I think it would probably tick all your boxes. Build what you can afford and for the money I think it's a pretty good buy

its certanly cheaper than an athem at that price but the crc one only comes with a rockshox monarch 4.2 shox where yours has the fox rp23 i think weird http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=51389 i think im just gonna go for it crc are gining them a full 2 year warrenty anyway should anything go wrong  :D

any idea of frame weight and what size seat post and clamps as there are no details on line  typical

Seatpost is definitely 27.2 as I upgraded mine to carbon. Not to sure on the clamp, as I stuck with the stock one, I'm thinking it's probably 30.9 but not 100% sure. Will check tomorrow for you.

As for the weight, haven't had it on the scales but the frame is light for a full susser very comparable to a lot of HT's. It would probably surprise a lot of people who think that lightness can be only achieved by spending lots of money and involving a carbon frame.
