Anyone run RC35's with the brakes at the front?

Normally the brake bosses face the rear of the fork, but has anyone switched them around so they run from the front?

And if so how did you manage to swap the bosses over (I think you need to switch the brake bosses from one leg to the other for this to work),

Swapped 'em on my RC31's with no problems, just change from one leg to the other. Were a twat to set vee's up at the back IMO and nobody could see my Ultimate's either 8)

Poser!

You'd have to swap the mounts round from one side to t'other but why would you want to? :?

8) 8) 8) Like I said, were fiddly and prone to crap at the back, the performance benefits are bull too if you ask me... Bob, didn't have a hanger, they were vee's...

Just swap the front brace with the back and then you can use the original roller cam.

Yep, but you still need to swap the brake bosses over - unless I'm going mad.

This means that you either need to take the drop outs off or the tops of the legs off to get them off - is this possible/advisable?

No where near as much hassle as that mate.

I'm guessing you have RC35's like these:

If you do, then swap the braces so the roller cam hanger is at the front.
If you take the bolts out of the canti mounts they will drop down to the bottom of the legs, there is enough flex in the mounts to gently 'open them up' so the the drop out on the fork leg will pass though the split in the canti mount.
Then just flip them over and refit them. I'd measure the distance from the centre of the dropout to the center of the canti stud first so you can put them back in the right position.

IF you have the earlier rc35's with just a brace at the back of the leg, then I'm afraid you're stuck with rear mounted brakes.

Thanks CB - mine are the later ones as in your first pic.

That's great advice, I didn't think the brackets would fit over the dropouts, but I'll give it a go.

I just need to find a brake hanger thingy now as there wasn't one on my forks.

Love that Pace hub BTW.
