Hello RBer's,
im looking to see if anyone local (east sussex area) has access to a van that can transport motorbikes?

Im after transport to a motorbike i wish to purchase - to then return with said motorbike (plus donor bike) so actually 2 motorbikes in total!
Currently my only option is available next sunday after 4pm - which isnt ideal as i dont want the bike to be whipped away from me....
so - is there anyone that can help?
Obviously the service will be tendered with the appropriate sum of money and/or bike parts if i get desperate....

weekday evenings are good - i can be available from 4:30pm

however, to be as tactically advantageous as i can, this request goes out to anyone local to east sussex, but also anyone in the Hampshire area (Liss - this is where the bikes are). i could meet you on wednesday 25th as i'm up in Reading and could "swing" by on the way back to Brighton to meet up, collect and return bike to my residence...its a long shot, but this bike is not something i wish to pass on without giving it my best shot of obtaining!

Is there anyone out there that could help me out please?

I'd need a rack for the back as well, there are essentially 2 bikes and renting a van would mean I'd need other bits to secure the bikes as well which I don't have. It's either this or go to a dedicated business to do it, which I'm guessing will be expensive...which the bike I'm looking at isn't....

Re:

Ye dinnae need much to secure bikes in a transit or similar, some decent ratchet ties and some decent rope.

I use cargo slings and rope, once I have ratcheted them down tight. wrap rope with dusters to protect chrome, and never put a strap over decent paint. Secret is arranging your bikes facing back, and you can easy get four in a SWB transit without struggling, unless they are beasts.

By the time you pay fuel and a fair wear and tear to a layman you will be not far off the price of a one way load from a pro, but at least you will get the crack, and maybe some sore ears from some loud punk rock!
