Lucky you! That'll make a great project, forks definately bent. I noticed it straight away.
Anyone know what Colnago this is?

Hi,
Hard to tell which model/year the bike is but my guess goes towards a Colnago Super, 1987/88 or thereabouts (what does the underside of the bottom bracket look like?)
However, the front forks are as bent as a donkey's hind legs :facepalm: - see the attached pics of my 26 year Colnago Super Sprint and compare the front forks (the first pic is the bike as it was 3 years ago and the second pic is the bike today) - my bike has never been frontalled but the bike you have found has hit something head-on, so not only do you need to get some new forks, you should also check the frame alignment very, very carefully.
IF the frame is undamaged, even if you have to source new forks it is still a great find and with som TLC could turn out to be a great bike.

LDP it looks like you are bang on about it being a Superissimo. The decals match the ones that I found online and thinking it is possibly a mid 1990s one!!
Began to give the bike a good clean and dismantle yesterday. Removed gears (they seem in perfect condition) along with handle bars and various other bits. Getting back to my usual dilemma of removing those Campy cranks (I have another bike with a Campag Victory which I have always struggled to remove – think you need a particular tool). Struggling to remove the forks, stem and headset though and hoping it is down to me being poorly tooled and it being a bit stiff after being in for such a long time rather than whatever bent the forks in the first place causing damage. It is currently soaing in WD40 but I may buy something better.
Interestingly (maybe just for me) there seems to be quite a bit of chrome underneath - the rear triangle and various bits shining through. I heard that Colnagos where painted over chrome but my frame sprayer seems to think (without seeing it) that Colnagos are sprayed on nickel. Also apart from the forks the frame itself does not seem to be in bad nick although the paint has taken a bit of a battering. This all depends on me having a look at the head tube once everything is off and I have already got a frame builder booked to check it over at some point.
So after quite a few Reynolds/British bikes I am diving into the world of Italian Steel!!! Trying to figure out how these Columbus tubes work. General consensus seems to say that this is Columbus Brain but it seems a lot less definitive than Reynolds bikes as people are mentioning various Columbus tubes on their own Specialissimos (SLX, SL, Thron). I would presume it is not safe to say that all Specialissimos are made from one type of tubing!? Also seeing a mix of reactions about the weight and qualities of Brain. General Consensus is that it is stiffer but there seems to be varying opinions as to it’s weight (does not bother me too much – I need to lose some grams myself to be honest).
Anyway I will see if I can post more pics later and maybe move this thread to the projects forum. BTW as someone asked – the BB has two slots, rather than the Colnago Logo.

A quick update and hopefully some advice. stripped all the gear off the bike. All good nick except for the chainset. The thread has gone (think my LBS messed up) so it is stuck on the BB for now. The fork and stem are stuck and not sure if this is due to the impact or not. However I have noticed a very small bulge on the downtube near the head tube. This looks like it is from the impact and I am not sure if this is repairable (or worth repairing)? It does not look too bad as it has not broken the paint and is very hard to notice but does anyone have any advice.
Have not got any pics at the moment as it is not with me at the moment.
