Early 1983 my parents were looking for an Escort, but brought home a green Sierra 1.3 Custom instead. After one year Ford discontinued this 60hp entry level Sierra. It was aerodynamic and hence looked kind of fast. I loved it.

Nah, all Sierras were RWD (apart from the 4x4s).

I always thought that, until I stumbled upon a thread on a car forum where someone asked if there was any car available in fwd/rwd/4wd in the same model and someone mentioned that Ford did a small batch of 1.3 Sierras but there's very little info available, I never bothered to look because it would just lead me to look at Sapphire Cosworths on eBay that I can't afford. Which I'm going to do now...
