Anyone into classic cars

Quite possibly, it's in Newport Pagnell now been there for 3 years plus, VRM end LOO

Believe there was only ever 2 put into use, both by Wiltshire constabulary
One at work would have been late ‘90, ‘91 and early ‘92. Quite a few more interesting cars there at the time, some I got to work on and/or drive.

Thought “LOO” was familiar, one I did work on and get to drive…bonus points are available for spotting differences to the “production” version.

was it the fact it had a povo spec grill? :P
Partly, it was early prototype, and not the final production version, but as you say, looked a bit “povo spec”. It’s also missing it lower splitter - blame another colleague for that. The rear bumper valance & exhaust exit were also early dev versions.

does it have a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good regular gas?
Was fully cat’d up to meet 93EEC regs and was running the production engine management system for the road cars, rather than the one homologated for the rally cars. It missed out on things like water injection which wasn’t not needed unless you were tuning somewhat beyond the stock 220bhp, which seems an almost comically low number for such a car now.

How times have changed.

Not sure if this counts as old enough, but it is a prefacelift M reg. This is my runaround/town/collecting things car. It was 150 quid and has genuinely got ZERO corrosion. It's the slowest engined thing I've ever owned and I bloody love it.

Still fast enough to have a good crash with, as my dad used to say 😀

I would like a nippy corrosion free runabout. I have had the nippy, but not the corrosion free!! .
