Iv'e had this frame for a good few months now,my intentions were to build it up with period correct components.

I have so many unfinished projects ranging from 50s/60s/70s etc

This has to be sacrificed.

A 1953 Whittaker & Mapplebeck Frame an Forks (Nidderdale Model)

Frame Size: C-T Seat Tube 23" C-C Top Tube 22.5"
Seat Post Dia: 27.2

Reynolds 531 Tubing Throughout (Very Lightweight)

Includes TDC Steel Headset (Excellent)

In very good to excellent condition

Original paintwork

Oscar Egg Lugs

Simplex Juy Rear dropouts

Whittaker and Mapplebeck were to gentlemen who started the buisness just after the war in 1947.In 1956 they changed to Pennine Cycles Yorkshire.

They made only a handful of these frames a year.

I have contacted one of the original frame builder and frame finisher, they confirm this as a 1953 model.

£300 ovno

If any interests,please reply

I have some photos available, along with all the measurements.

Grab yourself a very rare frame.

I think I understand the interest David but 8 years is a long time. Surely it's far too lovely a frame to not have sold, but you never know. Here's hoping.
All the best and welcome aboard :)
