I think Outpost were at the lower end. Have a look here and see if you can find it in the catalogues:

either the ez shifters and vee brakes(96+) or flexstem and treaded stem(-95) will help date it, as they dont go together....better pics please

looking at the catalogs the only year that mentions a white Outpost Trail is 99. lots of those listed on craigslist in the US for 30-70 dollars. Basic bike.
Decent commuter. Most of them over here get bought with excitement in the spring. Ridden 10 times after bought the first year and then beome garage ornaments so they are usually in great shape.
