Anyone else keep tarantulas?

Just wondering like . I've got a Mexican Red Knee called Phoebe and a Chile Rose called Tidge.

got a chilean rose named marilyn, had it 17yrs and its busy shedding its skin at the minute

But was looking through a herp mag the other day and the spider shop has some cracking blue ones in..

When I had the fish shop we did a few reptiles etc.. young lad came in and asked if we had anything for a tarantula..

To say he was not impressed when I put a size 10 Dr. Marten on the counter is an understatement.

Once i worked in MAFF near the airport. So had a good collection of many different spiders. The Salmon pink would always show me her fangs. And she went for the cat. The cat lost a life and stayed in the garden for the rest of the day

That Tarantula's a beauty! Is the bottom one a Black widow :shock: .

I do think they are stunning and fascinating creatures . . . and I don't even squish the ones I find indoors.. but I have been known to chuck the larger ones in with the tree frogs.

The lad who came in the shop was just a stroppy little oik who we needed to play with a bit
