Any Window lock experts on here

I need a bit of help please.

One of the locks on a window has decided to give up life and not work :roll:

Its a Vector jobbie
The lock will not fully close and is a sealed unit.

Does anyone have any idea where I can get a replacement from?

Locks Smith. I got a window lock key from my local shop. Just took a picture of the type of lock and he got a the key. Easy for you as you can take the lock.

Cheers but the key barrel is in the handle and works fine.

The handle just turns a square shaft in the square hole and pushes the lugs at the ends of the unit and the latch out which pushes two rods that engage into the window frame.

Spray it full of GT85 or similar. It'll clear out the stuff that's in it. Usually fibreglass grains and other such stuff.

Well, Opened it up and the cam slider was in peices :roll:

It looks very dry, have you tried soaking the whole thing in oil for a while ? My way, is get it warm then shove it is clean motor oil, that usually frees up siezed stuff

Motor oil with all it's additives has some corrosion limiting stuff in it, over time it can unsieze stuff and yeah, lubricate stuff that is dry.

Conditions inside PVC when it's warm dries out any lubrication.

AS said above I opened it and the cam slider is smashed to pieces so its def a new unit. :roll:

Got a piece like that on my front door. Handle piece went and cracked through last winter and it was a new full door poco machanism. £400!
