Any retrobikers around Nottinghamshire,S.Yorkshire,Lincoln?

....fancy a spot of light downhill and/or dirt jumping? When you get to the wrong side of 30 and carry a few extra pounds (round the waist not the bike! ) and you rock up on something the 'yoofs' think Jesus would of rode, you sort of stand out. I'm wondering if any like minded Retrobikers out there would fancy meeting up...preferably when the kids are at school/college/uni....so we can re-live our teens on the bikes we dreamed of BITD!! I can travel and am always on the look out for new spots!

PS I would of put this is the 'rides/meets' section but in there if it's not some 30 mile red route they ain't interested! ;-)

I'm not sure that's right. You never know, there may be like-minded souls on there - have you tried it?

I'm not sure that's right. You never know, there may be like-minded souls on there - have you tried it?

Yeah I tried last year but those that replied wanted to a loop in Sherwood Pines which included a downhill run. I was hoping to find folk more my age who want to have a blast at the dirt jumps or go to a Bmx track....things we should of grown out of haha.

Your stuff is not my scene, but there's a good bmx track at Bolehills in Sheffield that has a diverse crowd enjoying themselves and there's a decent downhill scene in wharncliffe woods, then the new(ish) mtb circuit at parkwood springs near the old ski village. I'm not in the know, but get out there and hook up with others. If you're enjoying yerself, I can't see anyone shunning you.

I've not been to Parkwood Springs yet but can't wait to go. Last time I was up that way was racing in the old Iron Justice race in about 98! Haha.
