Any Legal Beagles...Employment Law Q

One other point. Get a letter in to National Insurance and check that all your contributions have been made. It's not unknown for them to deduct from pay but *cough* forget to pass it on to NI...especially if they are dead dodgy.:?

You need to check this now, as it will be too late in 5 years time!

What did your contract of employment state? ie was there any provision on final termination for there to be a withholding of wages pending stocktake?

I suspect not. Sounds to me that you should be telling him/her about the Employment Rights Act (96) and the fact that this would be looked upon as an unlawful/illegal deduction from wages. You should write to them registering a grievance, they are then obliged to respond.

You have three months post termination to take the matter to an Employment Tribunal - which is your legal route to recovering the full sum.

A well written letter should $hit them up a little and get full payment.

PM me if it gets messy.

Sent a 'final reminder' this morning including some elements as listed above from you chaps....two mins later I receive this reply

The money was send friday afternoon and it is a three working days payment so it will come on wednesday. I can send you the transaction number on monday morning when i m back at the office if you wish. The delay to me is normal and this is why I asked you about the time frame regarding your transition between you and Nicolas. To be clear it can not be called inertia. As we are working hard on it. Hope your new job goes well. All the best.

So the money he owes you will be with you on Tuesday?

Fingers crossed....nice one Harry
