Well done to Charlieboy for remembering Steve's thread. I don't think I can add much to what I said there. The tubeset used is a bit of a puzzle, as I would take Kona Double Butted Cromoly to mean non heat-treated and essentially a frame similar to the 1999 Caldera (the Caldera name having been switched to a 7005 frame for 2000). However the reported weight of 1.8kg for a size 14 frame, which is roughly equivalent to what Steve said about the weight of his example (i.e., c2.0kg or just under for a size 18 ), is quite light for generic 4130 and lighter than a 1999 Caldera. I still think they would have taken credit on the sticker if they had invested in heat-treated tubing, and probably charged more than £299 too, but maybe I'm just too cynical. Anyway I feel sure it's a pretty good frame.
