I have s shimano silent clutch rear hub
Never seen one before it looks very similar to the alivo parralex hub
I was thinking would this free hub body fit shimanos other hubs
I used to love listening to my (hope ) freehub click
These days I think I d prefer the silence
Sounds like you have the 7 speed FH R-050? Nice hub but the freehub bodies are not interchangeable
I think they also made an 8 speed version FH R-080 AKA "LX Silent Clutch."
There's a million of the R-050's out there, I know Trek was using em. Dunno how hard it is to get your hands on the 8 speed version. Wouldn't mind having one ... it is kinda cool sneaking up on people
You can take the free hub off degrease to get the crud out, then run some thick gear oil through the seal gap on the back then regrease the bearing race and it will be virtually silent.
