Any fly fishermen in da house?

.

Bass are definately a target, but Golden grey mullet are showing in good numbers on my local beach.
First question is; Will freshwater gear, ie reels do the job as long as i wash them properly afterwards?
Second question; If not where can i get a saltwater reel 7/8 weight relatively cheaply?
Third question; Any recommendations for flies to target these species?

Thanks

Okay mullet are very very fussy with what they eat......the only succesful way I have tried to catch the little buggers is with freshwater float gear fished to 6lb or 8lb line and about 3 foot under the float a size 12 or 14 hook with a small piece of bread pinched onto it...totally cover the hook and make a small pocket around the hook.....then chuck lots of pieces of small bread in around where you will cast and leave it about ten minutes...then cast amongst the baited area....then hang on ......dont strike till the float is well under.......the little buggers fight like ell 8)

they also eat well.....but eat them the day you catch them as they dont keep so good... :?

Bass.......very small spinner or better......silver tinsel and tie your own fly onto a size 6 carp hook.......pinch a swan shot on the shank for casting weight and bobs your uncle.....but remember that of you use fly line.... in salt water use salmon gear as it is more robust than the freshwater trout gear......sea trout will be running in a few weeks too....you may get lucky...... 8)
