Even though my latest build hasn't started, I haven't even got the frame yet! I find myself itching to crack on with it & constantly browsing the for sale sections of forums

I have the wheels so far, that's it!

The stem, brakes & brake levers are en route, the frame forks and cranks aren't even in the post yet as the seller is on his hols

The waiting is doing me swede in arrgghhh

What bars, what tyres, what seatpost nuuurrghghhh

Anyone else get way ahead of themselves with a build before most of the parts have even arrived & then get really anxious/excited/nervous about it all

It only started with a set of bloody wheels

Wibble wibble wibble....

For my last project I bought everything before I had the frame and forks in my hands. Unfortunatley I changed my mind about the build and have a box of bits left over. Ah well, time for another project.

My latest build happened by accident (sort of  ) .

Had a frame set (more of a rolling chassis cause it had wheels) given to me by my old boss just before the shop closed as part wages payment. Been unsure what to do with it for about 9 months, then in the last 2 weeks, have (without noticing) got all the bits to finish the build :D

Realized I'd got everything while sat on the bog !!!

 Andy.

Graham will be back on Friday so wont be long now :D

I'm the same, frame, wheels, crank, brakes not arrived. The only things I have are the tyres and break leavers.

I'm sat here waiting to ride your new build Andy.

What diameter post does it take, might be able to do you a deal on a tatty USE post, you may need a shim though.

What about the mechs ? What size front does it need....
oh hang on it's your build...

I'm building a bike for a work colleague at the moment. Even though its not mine, I'm still eagerly awaiting the call from the powdercoaters to say the frame is ready to collect :)

yes!
if you have all the parts waiting, it has to go together in one go

otherwise - as much as you can then as and when parts come

until then, spare parts not intended for build so you can ride it

 @ came together whilst sat on the bog!

You'll probably hate what I'm going to do to this build, it's gonna be like Marmite

Glad to see I'm not the only one who builds a bike without having an actual bike to build

Still having a dilemma about the bars, but I'll resolve that later, gotta PM someone about a saddle!
