with this in mind, it 100% hits it's purpose, it just hurts me so much to see it done. Like I said, I can't put it in to words. It isn't an insult to @Tsundere, or to the bike, it really isn't, I just can't look at it.

Just taken her out for her maiden shakedown ride.

All is well, the only issue is being unable to shift to the largest cog, but honestly I can't see that I'd ever need it. So limited to 7 speed but still with a decent enough range. Everything else is spot on, braking is crisp, it's very quiet and feels pretty agile.

It weighs in at 12.6 kg, which isn't bad for a steel framed bike with steel mudguards. Tyres are very light and the lack of front mech and shifter helps, but weight was never a prime concern.

Tomorrow commuter duty. Looking forward to any reactions.

Quite disappointed you've not painted some radial cracks around the cable outers!

Slightly concerned you have trimmed the cable inners. At leat one or two should be full length and have a load of loops at the end.

Being a commuter it definitely needs a front flap. How about the classic made out of a 2liter milk bottle? or an L plate?. The rear can have one too but that needs to be broken in some way. Random spokey dokeys or reflective tape is also required.
