Another seatpost question...

Hi, i am awaiting the delivery of a c'93 Saracen Race Elite from a member here, and need to know the correct seatpost diameter. He thinks it it 29.2mm Would this be correct?

Yes, it would either not fit in or it would constantly slip or you'd bind it so hard you bend the frame and dig into the seatpost and then it slips and doesn't fit


I can't find a Race Elite in the 1993 catalogue. http://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/d/1 ... 27999af9ce (it it tells yo in it the seatpost size)
So which year is it, they often change between years as the frames changed for some manufacturers.

Makster... yes it is. I do want to get this right, rather that buying several and seeing which fits.

Fluffy....I have looked in all the catalouges and can't find it, but i think/ have been told it is '93.

Looking through all the Saracen books in the archive, i can only find details for the non e-stay bikes, @ 29.2mm. Would they have changed the seat post size on e-stay bikes?

I can't find the Race Elite in any of the books, so the year is a bit of a mystery......

PS.. ihave just been at the frame with a vernier caliper, i i make the diamete 29.6mm. Confirmation would a great help....

'93 race elite was a runout model. Basicly a kili flyer wiith whatever bits they had left over. I shimmed my post down to 27.2 but cant remember what it was before.

I had trouble finding a post for mine, mine I cant remember what size it was
I shimmed that X-lite to fit.
I sold mine to member incorrigible, so maybe worth sending him a PM to ask for a measure.

mine was a guess from a kili flyer 93 thread done on a search an I think that is what the post in it measured.

what sizes have you got to hand?
