Another Rourkie

Just picked up another Rourkie (n+1). This was bought in 1987 and has been pretty much unridden for 28 years by the one owner. As such the paint and chrome are in time warp condition. This is a 531 professional bike and it has a complete and original C-Record Delta groupset. The only thing that the original owner replaced is the wheels - the current ones are Campag hubs and Campag Ypsilon clinchers (currently shod with modern blue Scwalbe tyres - I can see them being replaced with Vittoria Open Corsas). The guy also included the original sprint wheels (C-Record hubs with Campag Record strada rims) which he had been storing in his shed but the chrome spokes are pretty much shot.

I'm hoping the colour will grow on me ;-). I'm just going to clean and grease it for now while I think about some subtle tweaks. The original Rolls San Marco saddle is a bit of an acquired taste so maybe changing that to a tan suede model with some matching leather bar tape?

Looking a bit more closely, The front changer doesn't look like C-Record and I'm not sure which Campag hubs are on the clinchers but I don't think that the C-Record skewers have survived the swap

The pedals and clips are not C-Record; the gear levers are 1st. generation Campagnolo Syncro, very finicky but which functioned very well for me for 26 years, until I changed them for Syncro II levers Still a pain to get 100% right but less finicky that Syncro I). The front derailleur looks very much like a Nuovo Record.

Smashing bike - but wouldn't want to ride on those deep drops

Enjoy :)

I quite like the colour, very 1970s Viking team colour. The saddle would give me a headache though LOL. Love the design of the chrome.

Front mech looks like 1052 Super Record :)

Ahh looks like they are Croce d' Aune pedals then.
The shifters look like these which are listed as C-Record Synchro:

I love the amount of chrome and the wrap over in particular. It's in really nice order too. I agree the saddle is hideous
