another project! 1990 Marin Pine Mountain

so i finished faffing with this, the brakes have been a sod to set up as the modern rim surface is quite rough, which improves braking but as a result the pads sometimes stick when you pull had so getting the angle of the pad was quite critical. gears feel so clunky by modern standards! nearly all my other retro bikes have thumbshifters so these feel quite agricultural! car p[ark test suggest a nice ride and position though!

Looking nice, especially in the sun.

You could always switch to the slightly newer DX ST-M075 shifters, really nice shifters and work a lot better.

The 1990 MARIN decal font was slightly different to the later font (see post 1) and the paint that year was a lighter colour, but a very very good effort.

There’s no wrong answer. Bike looks amazing but my own choice would be the MARIN font closer to the original 1990 design.

Purely personal preference. I just like the older design a bit more.
