Looking for another road bike which brings up the age old dilemma frame size, My issue is I am 5ft 9" but with long legs 33" and short top half.
For example my Alan cross that I have recently purchased is as you can see from photo I have quite a bit of seat post out but actually feel quite stretched if out on the hoods , the frame size of that is 52/53cm :?
I had a fitting on my old road bike which was 53cm with the following measurements
Key Dimensions
Saddle height (saddle top to crank centre). 749mm
Saddle fore-aft (saddle tip to head bolt) 406mm
Stem 105mm (80mm recommended)
Cranks 172.5mm
Saddle to bar drop 104mm
Handlebar width 440mm (consider 420mm)
Saddle tip to crank centre 34mm
My basic problem is I have my heart set on a trek 5200 which only seem to crop up in 52cm or 54cm and reading up on Trek sizes just now they are known for coming up smaller!!
All ideal when you can just pop into a shop to sit on one but not when bidding on something across the country
Any ideas from the key measurements provided?
Cheers
Dave
