Just thinking why I was fettling last night.

Do you think the emergence of Retrobike (as a term, community and website) has induced the new batch of anodised trinkets that are now being produced by manufacturers?

Personally I reckon its down to the BMX kids. Anodised BMX parts have become very trendy in the last 2 years or so, which has filtered through to the MTB dirt jump crossover lot, which has then influenced the more mainstream MTB'ers.

But basically - people get bored with matt black and have to rebel sooner or later...

At the risk of sounding cynical, I think the manufacturers will completely change the look of everything every couple of years in order to sell more parts.

agree with you both
