This is my Zaskar.

I've had it for seems like years and years and years. October 1993, Cambridge, Mike's Bikes. I bought a first generation RTS frame but couldnt find a built up set of decent wheels in Cambridge at the time, when I had the money.

So, went back and bought this, reduced in the sale to £1395 from £1795, parked next to a Orange Aluminium 'O'.

So, got a new shed in 1999, sorry looking naked frame & forks hanging in shed - shed get broken into ( we reckon by the delivery guys) and all sorts stolen - Zaskar turns up a year later when I decide to get an early train home and an early lift....

The bike has been blinged, stolen, sold and is now in semi retirement seeing just summer use, after some 45,000 miles. A shame but there you go....

no shame to it

nice bike with provenance ,keep it forever (or give it to me)

I like the '96 build best 8)

It's great having a bike for so long, it's like your best and most loyal buddy, i feel the same about my Dawes which i've had since '94, although it's never been stolen and recovered (touch wood)

i bet there are not many other ally frames that have done 45k without a crack.

how did the 94 ding occur?

My skinny mates on their skinny clockworks went down hill, myself followed but in a more 'headfirst' sort of fashion.

whats more scary is the extra hole I made for a disc brake adaptor about 9 years ago...

I deeply regret selling my 1992 Zaskar LE, but needed the cash injection at the time.

They went well together........
