Am I to old for this sort of thing.......?

31 and still lovin' it.. A mates dad does a 12'ish mile run everyday (High Salvington to Chanctonbury ring and back, near Worthing) on his early 90's Saracen (which he services himself excellently) - and he's 76!!

Never to old to ride, dudes  ps that isn't him, just a random google search..

One more thing to get off my chest- I still love my bib shorts and garish lycra tops.

Allbeit I'm not at my fighting weight however at 5'11"
and 13 stone I don't look like a balloon but my question is

"when are you to old to do lycra?"

Well, as I said earlier, I'm 28 and still wear lycra when I ride.
I have a pair of those baggy cycling shorts and baggyish top as well as my stash of proper lycra kit, so in summer if I want to do a leasurly ride I can be semi-casual!

Just got to decide whether to shave my legs this summer???? I used to when I raced, and now I'm riding semi-seriously again, do I shave again????!!!!!

Nothing is more pathetic than the ageing hipster....

I think about this too. I am 41, bald and starting to get wrinkly, my legs have varicose veins and grey hairs are popping up all over my body in the places where hair still grows-like out of my ears. I am starting to look like a senior citizen. So now when I hop on my 93 Stumpjumper and gleefully peddle around the local lake or fly down the city streets with a goofy smile on my face, I wonder if I resemble some kind of immature, grinning buffoon to non-biking folks--like a socially-retarded eighteen-year-old dressing up to trick or treat or a deranged 50-year-old careening around on a skateboard.

But regardless, I love biking, I love the fact that it helps keep me fit, and I save on gas too so I will do it as long as I can.
