One thing I have noticed is the number of reported stolen "good bikes" never seams to be carried through to the number of "good" bikes available through police auctions.
I know this is probably down to thieves shifting them on faster/people putting in more time and effort in searching for thier stolen decent stead, however I have my suspicions!
I cant help but thinking the police have a first dibs policy on anything prior to it reaching auction. For example I recently did a deal with a chap off ebay that landed me a selection of bits consisting of 2 pace RC36 forks, a complete LX groupset and a lowely but none the less respectable Handsome dog frame... I collected them from his place of work.... A police station...
