Aluminium Frame Repair - Please Help!

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all of your help and advice - I really appreciate it.

However I've decided that I'm going to get rid of the bike now. The repair seems easy enough, but given the run of bad luck I've had with it up until now, I'd rather just cut my losses before something else goes wrong.

I know it sounds stupid, but it's just giving me stress that I don't really need, especially with other things going on in my life at the moment :(

Again, thanks for all of the help and advice - you're a good bunch, I don't care what anyone else says! ;)

Just one last, possibly obvious, comment on this. There's been some uncertainty over whether it's a frame crack or crack in the paint. Can you tell by tapping it if it sounds true - it is likely to be a flat tone if it is the tube that is cracked, and more of a ringing tone if it's the paint.

I've stripped the paint. The frame is cracked.
