Hi all,

Just joined so please bear with me - tah :-)

Very much wanted: Your opinions on what to do with this rather attractive and unusual Alpinestars ASR-200 frame.

She may not be the most sought after specimen but I don't know anyone else with one, not even on here and I like her a lot - hope you do to (how could you not I ask ya?)

I was after a Pace (any old model) but can't quite afford one yet so she will do, at least until an upturn in MY economy.

I got a few old bits and pieces from the 90s that I'm thinking of using for the build:

Marz bombers with the CNC brace (but I would love some Girvin Vectors or AMP forks just to try for fun)
X-Lite seatpost with purple clamp - nice
Onza cantis - you know the ones I mean
Raceface crank - not sure how old but hard to tell with them RFs it seems
New bars cuz I want high risers (2.5") for comfort - getting on a bit you see
Any stem will do for now as long as its silver and shortish – again thinking comfort
A few purple pieces such as brake levers, bar ends, bottle cage, bolts and the icing on the cake: Peace (CND) canti cable hangers in purple - you gora love 'em eh?

Bikes I've owned:
Raleigh Grifter MK1 - not sure what heppend to it
Orange C16r mid 90s - rigid and original (stolen)
GT XCR3000 '99 - had it from new then sold to my nephew - never liked it
Orange Clockwork '92c - mix of old and new parts (stolen on the 14/01/09 in South Birmingham)
Kona AA '94 - sold to a friend, that way I still get to see her on weekends
Kona Cinder Cone mid 90s - sold to a different friend who loves her as much as me
Spesh Stumpy FSR '01 – always wanted one but had no room for it, sold it to a Spaniard

Bikes I still own:
Kona Hahanna mid 90s - cheap, little run-around
Alpinestars ASR-200 '96 - exciting new project
Mongoose Teocali '06 - 'all mountain' fun

Bikes I want:
Pace - any model but older is better and with Pace rigid forks please
Klein - that old two-tone purpley one with horizontal dropouts
Funk - funkay as...
ProFlex - I like 'em
Kona - a really good one, old and rigid of course (like myself, increasingly)
On-One Inbred - modern but with a mature outlook I feel

Anyway just expressing my bike worship/obsession/madness :-)

Cheers for looking and taking the time to read and comment,
Dean.

PS: Hope to meet some of you old bike nut cases at the next meet - when's the next one near the midlands?

PPS: You may have noticed that there is no photo - I don't know how to insert an image even after several attempts. Help please :-)
