Willing to take a chance on a 1992 onwards alpinestars al-mega. Must be free of cracks, dents and an e-stay. Frame only or frame and forks, might consider full bike.

Always looking for alpinestars clothing too.

Hi Sidekick, i'm looking for a 17.5 - 19" frame, ideally a 19" but could live with a 17.5".

Even if you don't find my size let me know what you do find. I'd be just as interested in any NOS alpinestars from bikes to frames to parts to clothing etc.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Sinnett,

I'm a newbie poster but have been cruising on here on and off for some considerable time. It turns out that I stumbled accross this post and I may have what you are looking for...

I have a 1994 Al-Mega frame (I think is was actually badged E-series then, E900 from memory) in as good a condition as you are likely to get. There are no stickers though, it is naked polished aluminium. I bought it second-hand in around 1995 when at uni and used it through to 2000. Since then it's been idle; last year I got most of the way through restoring it into something useable (and only partially retro) but the reality is I'm never going to use it and I already have three bikes with a fourth on the way, so storage is a problem.

There are some minor scuff marks and scratches in the aluminium as it has been used, but most importantly there are NO CRACKS, as far as I can tell at least. It has been inspected visually in detail and it is entirely creak free when riding so I'm pretty confident. Given that it is bare aluminium it polishes up beautifully and the scuffs are not really visible.

Hanging off the front is an excellent pair of period (again '94) Pace RC35s. These are the ones with the machined bridge. As part of my restoration project these were sent back to Pace, as the bonding had failed in a few places. They managed to find the old jigs and were able to repair them back to the original standard. They are now fully serviced with unused elastomers and ride pretty much like the day they were new.

The finishing kit is a mix of stuff old and new, I can give you a breakdown if you require. I can also get some pictures to you, though it may have to wait until Monday.

Not sure what you might consider offering for it (full bike or frame and fork) as there is some senstimental value attached to it, but if it's something sensible and if it's going to a good home and feature on here then I'd be prepared to let it go.

If you have any specific questions about it then please ask...

Oops forgot to specify the size. I think it's a 17.5 officially but it measures around 19" from memory from the BB to top of seat tube. I'm 6ft 1" and in terms of standover height it's about right but otherwise it's on the compact side but fine, as long as you are prepared to show some seat tube.
