Alloy granny bolts

What say ye?

These seem to be hard to find. Is it because they are just a bad idea? I am thinking especially on old cranks like turbines that need a big spacer, there is not much thread engaged. So what do you think?

Also can anyone suggest a good source?

My toplines came with them from new.

I used SRP and Tioga without much issue but that was a long time ago.

I've always used alloy bolts on my granny (she doesn't mind... honest) never had a problem. for long bolts just have a look on ebay, for example in the first search http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kronos-Alumin ... 35cea71963

Thanks, yeah TO cycles have some.. would be nice to find all my alloy bolt needs in one place though... they don't have red derailleur pulley bolts...
