They're XTR STI combined cable brake and gear levers - M960 from memory. They're not to everyones taste but I really like them. That said, they're for sale - £50 posted.

I can take some close ups if they're of interest.

Aye - dual control. I was dubious too, but after one ride I was trying to wrestle the brake levers off my other bikes trying to change gear. They're 9 speed - just in case you change your mind...
