Alien Fork ?'s - Anyone?

Recently brought home a first year Nishiki Alien frame .... unfortunately, no fork. This has raised a few questions:

First - what is the original forks axle to crown measure?

Second - what other options (to original) make sense?

It's a first year frame, so it's a 1" head, which is limiting the options. Also, it won't be a spec build, since I simply don't have anything that old to build with. That said, I would like to keep it somewhat "period correct" or at least classic looking.

Any info on the fork measure or opinions on fork alternatives would be greatly appreciated.

Anything that age will be pre-suspension so a 390mm a-c fork is probably a good starting point.

Do you have any photos of the frame mate? I'm sure that posting some would prompt some responses and suggestions for your build. Is yours the one with the bolt on rear end? I'd suggest some Tange switchblades or similar...... As mentioned above, stick to a A 2 C measurement of 390/395mm to keep the geometry correct.
