Very nice. I have one too, also in red but from 1980

From the image searches I did there doesn't seem any difference between the very first and very last of this frame during it's production. Nice frames though, scarce in good condition.

Its nice to see the effort put in to these bikes never cheap but always worth it (to the owner at least)
Nice build Finney :D

Re:

Looks like you've given it a new lease of life mates, well done.

Now for first ride pictures, in the Sun! 8)

Cheers KB. I reckon the secret is finding a solid, unmolested frame / fork. Everything from the there on in is patience and some cash. This one ate more than I'd liked but such is life.

I reckon it's a slight improvement on the as purchased picture. You're correct, needs a sunny day ride - those tubs might need changing first, they'll get eaten alive by the roads in these parts

The C Record version is the stuff that my early '80s dreams were made of! Just imagine walking in to your local bike shop and seeing that hanging from the ceiling . . . absolutely beautiful! Well done, that man!

It would be so good to walk into an 80's bike shop! Far better than the sterile offerings of today. It's lovely stuff the C-record - the brake levers are superb; not sure why the 'powergrade' technology didn't take off - it's brilliant and unlike any action from any other levers. Really re-assuring and solid - and that's with a set of Delta's

If ever you get the chance, then go into https://www.procyclehire.com/ and check out the "Shelf Art" on display - you'll think you've died and gone to Retro Heaven!! The books alone are worth the visit and to be enjoyed after a hard day in the saddle over a nice beer or coffee served up at their counter/ bar .. .
