Alan Record Carbonio Road Bike Year Identification

I recently purchased an Alan Record Carbonio off ebay. I contacted Alan to try and figure out the year of the frame. They told me it was from their 1985-1986 run. I'm skeptical about this due to the frame having 130mm spacing. Based on my research, 130mm spacing is for 8-11 speed and Shimano didn't introduce 8 speed until 1988 and Campagnolo didn't introduce one until 1991.

Is this bike really from 85-86 or newer?

I'm guessing they are right as a standard 7 speed block is around same spacing as a more compact 8 speed cassette type set up.
