Not really a bargain for a basically unknown frame.

Maybe it is bought by a roadracer, as roadracers are more familiar with the Alan brand.

Alan are famous for their cyclo cross frames .

I knew two people that had Alan cyclocross bikes. They had the carbon ones, like that mtb frame. I never liked them, very old fashioned for the time and the finish wasn't up to much
