Alan Bonds' modified Schwinn Excelsior

Repack Rider

Senior Retro Guru
Here is my friend Alan Bonds' recently restored modified Schwinn Excelsior. Alan shared the house with me and Gary Fisher back in the day, and was known for his clean assemblies and repro paint jobs.

The fork is a Lawwill-Knight prototype made for the original ProCruiser. Seatpost is solid aluminum bar stock. Brake levers are '90s, pedals are '80s, tyres are relatively new, but everything else is original '70s.

That is very cool. Original paint or a respray.

Deserves a late nomination as BOTM!

Paint Job

It's a new paint job. Alan is a painter by trade, and his reproductions of original paint jobs are excellent. He hand-cuts stencils for this work.

Would that have been the original style though? Can see were Breezer got their influence from.
