Al Mega

Hi is there any chance of a few photos? After all whats in poor condition to you could be ok for others?Has it ever been welded anywhere?Whats the condition of the front mech/hanger.Is the rear mech hanger in good condition?

interested in pics too now i twigged what it is!

Price is a bit too strong for me, but it all depends on pics and actual condition.

Broken frame, knackered paint, £300?

I think that we should try to lay down some guidelines about pricing, there must be a formula we can use. Doesn't the trade half the value of the bike for the first year and then take off 10% for every year old the bike is after that? We could use that and then allow a little lee-way for particularly sought after bikes etc.

Using that formula and a new price of £699 in 1991 (somebody correct this for me) the bike is worth £60. Factor in the crack and shoddy paint and you're down to £40, take into account that people are paying silly money for knackered old bikes... you might get £75.

Rare(?) and old stuff always hard to price, this is where ebay comes in handy, it dies and sells for £50 (or 99p) or some fool yogs his riches on it making £600.

Look at old cars for ref, just like old bikes go either way. Old tinny Escort ££££ :O most of our bikes are for collecting though so not quite the same. Bear in mind this section needs a price, doesnt mean we wont like it, and if we don't like it it don't sell. :)
