Retro Newbie
HI All,
My apologies if this has been discussed before, but I'd like to restart the discussion and perhaps get some definitive answers to the following;
I have purchased a Mag 20 for that appears to be in fairly good condition, but I would like to replace the 2 obvious parts that wear out (Oil Seals and Air Valves) for a retro project.
The Oil Seals I have ordered from Enduro Bearings, however the only place I can find "OEM" Valves and air needle from SRP. Now their cost is rather exorbitant ($ 24,49 excluding VAT and shipping). I live in South Africa and if I do just a quick price conversion (ignoring the VAT and Shipping costs) it works out to ZAR 383. I only paid ZA 700 for the fork.
I'm sure I can get a small piece of Nitrile Rubber and make my own. Does anyone know;
1. The diameter in mm ( I think it's 8mm)?
2. The length in mm (no idea)?
3. The inner size hole to accommodate the needle, but also not so large that the fork doesn't hold air when the needle is removed.
I look forward to any response.
Simon
