can anyone identify the age of this fork:

manitou.jpg

It is stated as a Manitou Comp fork from 1995...?

I can get my hands on this one but don't know if it is a good decision...

thanks!

I have one of these, and it is a nice fork. Of course it is retro. This is a debate that many of us have had before, and it is virtually impossible to put an age on it.

With manitou however, I would say that any fork sharing that particular crown and steerer, and with that lovely machining instantly classes as retro.

Go for it. Oh, and if it doesn't go through, I will be selling mine at some point too

Nice fork,

had one a while back - much nicer looking than a manitou 4in IMO, brake arch is CNC'd unlike the 4's.

wasnt the sport basically the mani 3 but a different colour?

I seem to remember it came out the same time as the 4 but looked nearly identical to the old 3 :?

mani sport was the same internally as the 1 or 2

the comp was a completely different design internally

1 and 2 had the elastomers below the stantion , 4 x 1 1/2 and 2 x 3/4 inch

3 and 4 inside the stantion , 12 x 1 inch

the comp had 2 x 6 1/2 inch long elastomers , with discs around the elastomer , rather than in between

While we're on the subject, anyone able to tell me what the first Magnum was? It looks almost identical to that just with black and silver lowers...
