Hi Chaps,

I need some advise on Tools. I would like to remove my BB on a Kona LD 96' So I am assuming I will need a 'Crank Puller' and a tool to remove the BB?

I see 2 types of Crank Puller out there, ISIS compatible and 'Standard' what one do I need?

What Tool do I need to remove the Bottom Bracket? what size?

I also need to remove the chain, what tool do I need & can you remove any link on the chain or 1 particular link?

Thanks in advance..

JJ.

Hacksaw and rubber mallet will get any of those off no problem...........if ye ever want to get them back on, though, read up with Sheldon.

Park tools are about the best, though Elite are ok too on a budget.

there is a repair section on the parktool website. contains all the infos you might need.
reg. crank puller:
depends very much on what kind of crank you have. i recently bought a crankpuller that handels square taper and isis cranks.
reg. BB removal:
there plenty of different ways BBs are mounted. have a look at the parktool website.
reg. chain: different styles of chains here too. e.g. shimano and sram chains are unmounted in a totally different way.

conclusion: read the articles on sheldons and parktool website...
