Advice needed on chipped frame paint

Ha!....what more excuse do you need to visit boots and speak to the ladies on the counter?.....if you didn't enter with a fork leg, you will leave with one!..... :?

Once you have some suitable paint, don't just daub it on - use some 600 wet and dry to smooth the area around the damage - don't worry if you expose more metal. Take your paint/enamel and apply a thin even layer extending about 1cm past the edge of the bare metal in every direction - then let it dry thoroughly. Wet and dry again until smooth to the touch, then another layer - repeat until satisfied, careful application of automotive spray lacquer will help protect the repair and restore shine to the finish, or you can put on a couple of coats of turtle wax.

I can't work out if this is a joke or not
Taking a pair of forks into Boots is going to look odd especially with all those tarts dolled up on the make up stand ?
I might get a colour chart and match that to the frame instead of taking the bike in

Hide the forks down your trousers.

My GT came with 2 pots of touch up paint when new.
They looks suspiciously like nail varnish ! Even little brushes in the lid.

Or a model shop with their tiny pots of enamel paint.

But then you have to buy a brush  plus its more difficult to then do your nails with Humbrol

Yeh but no but yeh but....I also bought some fine brushes and managed to repaint scratches between the decals on my Vicious forks  can't do that with a nail brush :P
