How is this done are they an air fork it looks like it may have an inlet for a specialist pump although cant be sure theres definately oil in them i can hear it!

Which version are they? The control tech ones with the risse shock had a standard schrader valve on the body, I thought the earlier ones relied on a Rock Shox mag21esque needle valve pump point. Definitely an air shock, oil there for damping, I think?

Lawwill Leader

Depending on the age, the Leader fork's Risse shock had a needle valve or a schrader valve. A simple air/oil shock-to service it, first let the air out-a mist of oil will come with it. Then unscrew the shock body and clean it out with a clean rag. Fill it with 55cc motorcycle shock oil-5 weight is a good place to start, but you can use heavier oil to slow it down a bit- then reassemble it and pump it up to about 70 pounds of air pressure-which is the spring- and can be varied according to your weight.

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone have any info on spares for this fork? Can the shock be replaced?

Thanks

Ian

Risse Racing, the original shock manufacturer is still in business in Northern California. You can contact them and still get parts/complete shocks from them. Risseracing.com

Cheers, I've contacted them without knowing they had spares so hopefully they can sort me out!
