Does anyone know if it's possible to interchange vintage Campag C Record Strada headset parts with the same model Pista parts?

Bearings were the same size I think (5/32), aren't the pista c record headsets quite rare?

Yup, they are indeed. If I'm not mistaken, the Pista one had a lower
"stack" height. In my head they should be interchangeable, with only the
fork column thread length being a possible issue.

Anyone else got any thoughts on it?

campy made so many variants of headsets that it would be impossible not to run out dimension change possibilities. over the years I have found all sorts of headsets bits n bobs that can be swapped over without issue. But you would still have to try the swap to see if this is the case. not helpful at all really

If the headsets were of the same era, do you think that those

Looking in the 1985 Campag catalogue in the archives, it does seem that both Strada and Pista share common ball size and cups, but if that is so you'd expect them to be similar stack-height?

If that is so, it was a marked change from the Super(seded) Record- The Strada had different ball size from Pista and the Strada was almost a whole centimetre taller.
