A quick preview of what's to come....1991 GT Zaskar project.

Another day, another bit of progress...
The forks are now fitted and having a play around with the different stems I have.
Should I use 120mm lower rise or 135mm higher rise?
See below fitted with 120mm stem and 135mm
I am leaning towards the shorter stem, to keep it consistent with my other retro GT's and 120mm is correct for the frame size.
It's looking great (Especially the forks 😁 )

**another vote for low rise**

Nearly finished,
Got the brakes and gears fitted and set up.
Will be taking it for a test ride tomorrow and will hopefully take some photos in day time.
I have got to find some crank bolt covers and bottle cage bolts, I thought I had some but I didn't!

I took the Zaskar out for a quick spin around the block to check brake and gear performance, all good so far!
Very pleased with how it looks and rides.
Only things to add to finish off are bar end plugs, crank bolt covers and bottle cage bolts.
Weight wise it feels about the same as my other early 90's GT's, so not that exciting really.

As mentioned early on in this thread, this Zaskar is fitted with mostly Shimano Deore XT for the brakes and drive train, with the exception of the headset, chain and bottom bracket.
