A quick preview of what's to come....1991 GT Zaskar project.

Good luck hope daughters feeling better good to see how you get on with the peel tec stripper the stuff i used is shite water based crap and nitro morse is not what it was i put some on my marin only to take clear coat it hardly worked (its the hardest bike i ever stripped only clear coat over aluminium i dont know its a marin thing ) indian fire trail plus if it doesnt work or anything goes wrong you can blame phillb haha

It has finally begun, the forks are being stripped of it's paint right now, photos will follow...
As promised I have a few photos to add of the progress now that the frame has had the decals removed.
It is a slow project as I am not in a rush this time. However now that I have made a start feel I can move on a bit more.;)
I initially started polishing with Autosol, as I already had this in my drawer.
But then I thought maybe I should use a fine sanding sponge to give the frame a 'brushed aluminium' look. Though the original Zaskar in the catalogue was 'Ball Burnished', of course.
Over the next few days, weather permitting I will be working on the forks....

This is a 1991 Zaskar frame. It is in a nice condition for it's age and look forward to building it up. The cable guide couldn't be removed as the nut is stuck to the screw and I didn't want to damage the guide. So it will remain in place unless I can find a replacement.
