A question of spokes...

As said, 300mm is quite long. I had some that length in a chrome 27" Rigida rim with a small flange hub. Most of the ones I've used in basic 700c wheels have been closer to 292mm. The hub flange diameter doesn't make a massive difference but anything with a deeper rim will need much shorter spokes. They could be for useful for tubulars, because sprint rims can have the spoke nipples up near the outside diameter.

A 5 mm difference in hub flange diameter only alters spoke length by approx 1 mm. 5 mm difference in rim diameter is approx 2 mm going from 2x to 3x its approx 6 mm 3x to 4x approx 7 mm if that helps

Re:

Thank you to all the spokes people!

I now have a much better understanding of how to calculate, I also really liked the 'easy' option of the spoke calculator site :D
