a new Sport is born

I’m less concerned with the legalities and more concerned with the ethics.. being creative is hard work and this guy is lazy so he just taken someone else’s work because he couldn’t be arsed to create something original..

I’m not a stickler for artistic license, I used to have a BMX tee with the BMW logo but it said BMX instead.. I have no issue with a independent BMX label poking fun at a corporate giant but that^ artwork was created then given away free of charge to anyone who would care to appreciate it.. this guy has taken it then monetised it for his own gains..

Not cool!

Somebody got out of bed the wrong way this Monday morning.

Christ on a bike. By Friday with a good Saumur Red chilling out you will be asking this bloke for bulk shipping discounts. :p

Jeeze.. I'm not angry about it, the interwebz is awash with similar shiz 😁

This guy is just one amongst millions who're monotising the work of street artists for their own financial gains, they know they won't sue because what they're doing isn't always entirely legal but that still doesn't mean it's yours for the taking..

We are talking Banksy here aren't we? 🤣

You get a "Love" because you are passionate about it.

Not sad about this whole affair .... and we know .... Bansky was actually not that arsed about Copyright and "droit d'auteur". For me he left work to be inspirational for what thus whatever purpose. If he was concerned he would be and would have been concerned at the moment of release.

Getting it all in perspective - holistically speaking - and there are a few ongoing discussions elsewhere - about the entire collapse of vintage and retro road bikes and how they are not shifting in favour of our over consumption drive to buy new tat and are practically tip bound now.

If someone can trigger a similar fashionable buzz to the fixie era and these bikes don't go land fill then I'm all for it.

Personal profit or not because right now the odds are seriously not in any favour whoever is attempting to try.

It's not about Banksy or what we may or may not interpret his intentions to be.. it's about lazy design work, creatives create, they write music, they make film, they create art.. It's their creation, it's not yours to take and do with as you please.

Ask yourself this @Woz do you want to live in this ever repeating societal loop.. rehashed nostalgia forever repeating itself, the 80s played out through the 2010s, the 90s have just had a decade long rivival.. it's because folks are too f'kin lazy to create anything new and original 😁

I have asked myself this long before this thread. It is inevitable and also known practice throughout history despite "legal" protections.

The issue is recognising the influence, origin and being upfront about it too and explain why it was the bases to extend. This is actually the whole problem we now face with AI.

I think you are being unfair there was no creativity in this and dismissing it off as "lazyness".
