Re:
That reminds me of a particular eBay seller who never ceases to amaze me. To find them, just google "eBay High End, Investment Grade Precision Museum Quality Model Art". They're a seller of diecast models, and EVERYTHING they sell is marked up AT LEAST 1,000% and sometimes up to 2,000%!
A quick google search of whatever they are selling will show the same item for at least 10 times less by other sellers, to include the original manufacturer (Danbury Mint, Franklin Mint, and others).
Their long list of positive feedback seems to indicate that there is no shortage of people who are easily mislead. The saying "more money than brains" comes to mind. Even more suspicious, when looking at their feedback page, instead of being offered the option "view item", every single listing is indicated to be "private", i.e., we can't see what it was that was sold, nor how much money the buyer paid.
Are there that many naive people in the world, or is this a money-laundering scam of some sort? Do they have a multiitude of shill accounts so they can show a long list of satisfied (i.e., positive feedback) buyers?
I guess no laws are being broken if their salesmanship abilities are such that they could sell a glass of water to a drowning man. Granted their photography skills are well-honed.
They even weasel out of any negative feedback they receive. My favorite: Dissatisified buyer said "Low low model.not as you said" (obviously referring to the low quality of the item), and seller replies with "Low? Height Accurate(To Scale)".
I can't help but ask: WTF? (no, not Wank The Frelder)
