This was the 'aftermath' in morpeth today , after last nights floods.. my sympathies go to all the residents affected by this.

This also was the state of the local 'trails' this morning.. :?

that is way harsh
hope only property was damaged and no one hurt

would seriously ruin your day to have that go through your house

I dont think anyone was seriously hurt , although quite a few people got 'air' lifted out via the ol' rescue copter.. :? :) and the old peoples nursing home residents had a party up stairs ... and sung songs from the 'war'...apparently..

I managed to save my cars but the workshop was under a foot of water when I gave up. I spent 3 hours in the flood water rescueing cars and equiptment- bottom shed was waist deep by the time I had finished.

Worst bit was the house we have just scraped everything together to buy has really copped for it- it was level to the worktops in the Kitchen this morning- the tide marks on the wall are above my head. It's going to be at least six months until it's fixed.

Plenty of positives though. As Si mentioned, everyone in good spirits and mucking in. A coffee seller and burger van turned up at lunch time and have beenhanding out freebies all day. Neighbours that have not spoken in years are helping out each other and the pub were great last night- best night out in ages!
slightly nervous about going to workshop in morning- couldn't face it today. Hoping the bikes are safe.

They are still rebuilding, drying out and starting looking at houses that got flooded last year here in Hull.

Good look to you all, it's going to be a long time till everything is sorted I'm afraid to say :(

Dr S, what cars ?
