A friend's kona Hei Hei 20" ti

Now, it's not a fishing post, but a friend of mine has inherited this from a deceased other friend's estate... He is using it as a pub bike ffs, so I suggested he sell it so that someone else can save it and appreciate it. He knows it's a good un, and I can't afford it, so I said I'd post it here to gauge interest.





I think the serial puts it as an early one.... B20031

It has some nice bits too... Xtr rear mech, seatpost, front v brake rear canti, hope ti front hub, plus other bits and bobs
It needs love, but has no dents or cracks..... What's the verdict on a ball park price?
I've seen frames go for around £600, and that's what I told him.....

I'd put the value at about £750-800, although the bigger frames sometimes don't command as much as an 18" might. It will go for more on Ebay than it would here, but your mate will obviously be stung with the Ebay fees so it's swings and roundabouts!

It´s pre 94, probably 91-93 (no bullet shaped stays and Merlin type tubelike rear cantilever cable guide). Sticker does not seem correct (it is 1994-on)...

I can fill anyone in on the complete back story too....there is nothing suspicious about it, it's just an honest survivor, previously owned by a chap with plenty of disposable income!

This is probably better suited for a value discussion, so happy to do that.

Frames have gone for that much in the past, but not so much now and if they were, they were in tip top condition. This one isn't. It's also wearing a right mixture of after market kit. That all said, it's a Hei Hei, 94 my guess with that BB and serial number.

£450-500 would be more realistic.

I'd agree with David that this it's pre 94 with those dropouts and the noodle. If it were a 16" then we'd be negotiating
