I grew up in South Devon, Totnes and Dartington to be exact. I remember only two lots of snow falling in my whole childhood. Dartmoor used to get it slightly 'moor' often but it was always an iffy drive in a Herald and succession of shonky Vauxhall Vivas. We used to make the journey up to Holne. Not knowing if that bump was a small snow drift or a lump of granite always added a little something.

Now twice in two years!

Cheers Kirbdug! Is the Avonwick road known locally as the Higher Plymouth Road? That used to be on my personal time trial route. From Dartington, out past Rattery to Marley Head, over the A38 and down towards South Brent and the banners proclaiming the world to be flat. On to the A38 for a single junction, through Avonwick and up the hill and a quick blast along the higher Plymouth road to Totnes. Left on to the Totnes bypass and back to Dartington.
